What is GateOpener

GateOpener is a companion app for GSM gate opener hardware modules (such as RTU5024 and Waferstar GSM-KEY). The App sends SMS messages and initiates phone calls to communicate with your gate hardware. The App does not include, manufacture, or sell any physical hardware.

Requirements

• A compatible GSM gate opener module (see Supported Devices in the App)
• An active SIM card in both your phone and your gate module
• Standard cellular service for SMS and phone calls

Carrier charges

The App sends SMS messages and makes phone calls through your phone's standard cellular service. Standard carrier rates apply. You are responsible for any charges from your mobile carrier for SMS messages and phone calls initiated by the App.

Hardware compatibility

The App supports devices using the RTU5024 and Waferstar GSM-KEY protocols. While we list 60+ compatible modules, we cannot guarantee compatibility with every hardware variant or firmware version. If your device is not supported, contact us and we will try to add support.

Security

• Device passwords are stored encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM encryption
• You are responsible for keeping your device password secure
• We strongly recommend changing factory default passwords
• The security of your gate access depends on your phone's security (screen lock, biometrics) and your gate module's security settings

No guarantee of operation

The App facilitates communication with your gate hardware. We do not guarantee that your gate will open or close reliably, as this depends on:

• Your cellular network coverage
• Your gate module's hardware condition and power supply
• Your SIM card status and credit
• Environmental factors (signal interference, power outages)

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring your gate hardware is properly installed and maintained
• Managing who has access to your gate (authorized users)
• The physical security implications of granting or revoking gate access
• Complying with local regulations regarding automated gate systems

Privacy

All data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Privacy Policy

Intellectual property

The App and its content are owned by Mandoloran. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mandoloran shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App, including but not limited to unauthorized gate access, property damage, or personal injury.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. All locally stored data is permanently removed when the App is deleted.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. The updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
